From Costa Rica, Yolande Norris-Clark Free-Births COVID News About “Hellscape” of Canada

Yolande Norris-Clark, the free-birth activist known as @bauhauswife to her 30K Instagram fans, has had a busy pandemic. She’s been profiled as a QAnon-flavoured style-icon of the wellness-based COVID-denialist movement in Mother Jones, Rolling Stone, and The Toronto Star

But in a recent Instagram post from Costa Rica, Norris-Clark stakes out new ground as a yellow journalist, deploying #MeToo-style language to suggest that quarantine measures in “totalitarian” Canada are “facilitating” sexual assault.

Norris-Clarke’s sermon purports to comment on recent stories in the Canadian media about two women who allege they were sexually assaulted while under recently-adopted travel-related quarantine orders. One incident took place in a government-approved hotel in Montreal. The alleged assaulter was a fellow guest, who has now been charged. The other incident involves a man hired from a private security firm and trained by Canada’s federal health agency. He allegedly attempted to extort cash from a woman during an at-home quarantine check. When she did not comply, she says, the man sexually assaulted her. Both cases are being investigated by the police. Government officials have expressed concern, and opposition politicians are calling for a suspension of the hotel quarantine programme.

The news coverage has been robust, with local outlets in Montreal and Windsor (home of the alleged hotel assaulter) filing reports, and national and international outlets covering the political and agency response.

Norris-Clark cites only one of the available reports. Her summary of the stories is rife with falsehoods and exaggerations.

Citing no evidence, Norris-Clark opens by claiming that a “totalitarian coup” has been “ongoing in Canada for over a year now.” (Searching “totalitarian coup Canada” renders an op-ed piece from a former Conservative leadership hopeful concerned about COVID-era support benefits, and a screed from Tucker Carlson.)

Norris-Clark calls the 11 designated facilities, most of which are outlets of large hotel chains, located within ten kilometres of the four airports now receiving international passengers, “camps,” “gulags,” and “internment camps” that are “facilitating these incidents of sexual assault.”

Citing no evidence, Norris-Clark claims that travelers subject to quarantine are “innocent healthy individuals are being held against their will.” They are “treated like the prisoners they in fact are. They’re not made privy even to their own location. They’re forbidden from disclosing any information about their situation to their families. They’re commanded not to communicate by social media. They’re permitted outside only for an hour each day while supervised, and they have even reported being prevented from making use of the security locks on the inside of their doors, the insides of the doors of these hotel rooms-turned-gulags.”

In reality, the hotel quarantine measures are so lax that some travelers are opting to ignore them, choosing the $880 fine over the higher expense of the hotel stays. As per the CBC: “Police said they will not detain anyone for breaking the hotel quarantine rule, which came into effect this week, unless there are aggravating circumstances involved, such as a criminal offence.”

In the CTV report, the Montreal assault victim does say that she was unaware of the hotel’s location, and was told to not communicate via social media. But no such guidelines can be found in official government posts about quarantine rules.

In the post, Norris-Clark falsely calls Canadian PM Justin Trudeau a “dictator,” but then paradoxically relates that opposition leaders are criticizing him for not rolling out vaccines quickly enough.

Norris-Clark also peppers her post with COVID-denialist conspiracy talking points, such as Kary Mullis’s false statements about his PCR test (Mullis was also an AIDS denier) and disinformation about false positives. She employs the COVID-minimization label: “flu-like illness” to describe a complex respiratory disease that has killed 2.5M globally and has left behind a growing number of survivors with long-term disability.

Deeper into her report, she begins falsely calling the alleged incidents “rape.” She rails against “evil,” and a Canadian family member and declaring that she’ll never return to the “hellscape” of Canada.

Meanwhile, Costa Rica has announced its plan to vaccinate 3M people — citizens and residents — by the end of 2021. Tourists will have to acquire vaccination privately.

Full disclosure: this podcast has strongly criticized Norris-Clark’s anti-vax and anti-lockdown views, and she has dismissed the criticisms as “misogynist.” We reject this deflection. We criticize all unregulated messianic influencers, regardless of gender identity, and further argue that the anti-science (and anti-trans) politics of COVID denialism in the free birth movement can itself have misogynistic impacts.

Hi everyone. I’m Yolande Norris-Clark. I started speaking out against the totalitarian coup that has been ongoing in Canada for over a year now, back in February of 2020, I was ridiculed, laughed at, and threatened for doing so. A few weeks later, I began talking about the impending Canadian quarantine isolation centers that were being built or refurbished, and that was met with even more derision and mockery, and here we are. Again, I would love to have been wrong about all of this… Last night, I shared the shocking devastating story of two Canadian women who had recently returned to Canada from abroad, who were held in one of those so-called quarantine hotels, and who subsequently put forward allegations of having been sexually assaulted while being detained in these quarantine facilities. One woman’s room was intruded upon by a man who then attacked her. Apparently, this was another guest at the hotel.

Another woman experienced attempted sexual extortion on the part of an individual trained by Canada’s federal health agency to carry out quarantine compliance in people’s homes. This individual demanded cash from this woman before then sexually violating her as well, this quarantine agent was apparently specifically empowered by the Canadian government to enforce the isolation experience. According to others who have gone through Canada’s designated quarantine camps, those held there are treated like the prisoners they in fact are, they’re not made privy even to their own location, they’re forbidden from disclosing any information about their situation to their families, they’re commanded not to communicate by social media, they’re permitted outside only for an hour each day while supervised, and they have even reported being prevented from making use of the security locks on the inside of their doors, the insides of the doors of these hotel rooms-turned-gulags ostensibly because it’s very important. For the guards to be able to have access to their rooms at all times, in the case of an emergency, of course, in other words, these individuals are afforded no privacy, no dignity. And no freedom at all. What I find interesting though is the disingenuity with which the mainstream media and the virtuously outraged opposition politicians are framing the story…

Yes, it’s horrifying that women are being sexually violated, especially under these circumstances, and it’s very much the case, I would argue that it is these quarantine camp isolation measures and regulations that are in fact facilitating these incidents of sexual assault, but I’m also seeing how that narrative while true is simultaneously starting to obscure the larger issue, which is that the very notion, let alone the implementation of quarantine isolation centers or measures for individuals who have tested positive or not for a flu-like illness with a 99.8 survival rate, based on statistics that are so flawed, as to be clown-ish and impossible to take seriously, of course, this is considering that this flu-like illness is being diagnosed using a test, the inventor of which stated several times before he mysteriously died, pretty much right before Rona hit the big time, cannot rightfully diagnose anything, let alone this particular flu-like illness.

In fact, the PCR test has a false result rate of up to, I think it’s 80%. But upholding the pretense of even the possibility of having a grasp on any kind of objective numbers is, like the widespread use of masks, yet another example that I think really proves the idea that reality is based entirely on perception. This is also why when I hear politicians like conservative Michelle Garner, who has fashioned herself as one of Trudeau’s fiercest opponents, talk about how outraged she feels about these incidents of sexual assault, I’m not terribly convinced. Or rather, I think she is using these terrible situations for the sake of political expediency because while she rightfully throws Trudeau under the bus, stating that lockdown must end that the quarantine isolation facilities are a travesty, she then goes on to equally passionately announced that we need a plan for re-opening, we need injections. We need therapeutics. We need a plan. Along with her criticism of Trudeau’s adoration for lock-downs, she’s also criticized the apparent sluggish-ness and ineptitude with which he struggled apparently with the injection roll-out, calling for better efficiency, a more streamlined approach to ensuring that, I guess the entire population of the country is shot up.

No, we don’t need healthy people to be quarantined at all, likewise, we also do not need to be coerced into submitting to a dangerous untested biologic injection, but everyone’s on the take. The media is similarly engaged in their little mind games covering these stories of sexual assault… Yes, but always in the context of ultimately reinforcing the perverse notion that there is any justification whatsoever, whether medical, social, or in any other way, shape, or form to detaining Canadian people on any grounds.

CTV, which shared the news story, the sexual assault also included the following quote by public health agency spokesperson Andre Gagnon “Government-mandated quarantines are necessary to protect Canadians from Rona 19 and its variants,” he said. “But the government takes the health, safety, and security of travelers who are staying in government-authorized accommodations or designated quarantine facilities very seriously.

Federal Public Health is aware of the incident from February 17th, 2021 at the designated quarantine facility in Montreal where one of the sexual assaults took place,” he said, “and takes all of these allegations extremely seriously.” Yes, we have to repeat that, a number of times, that inane useless line.

“As for existing safety measures, government employees as well as security staff, are stationed at designated quarantine facilities to help provide a safe and secure environment.” He wrote, “Public Health officials are also in daily contact with hotels to support their needs, he said, at this time, in order to protect the privacy of those involved, we will not comment further on the situation.” And here we go, more state propaganda that gives the impression, again, that all of this is ultimately for the public good.

I mean, one could even say that the women who experienced the sexual assaults are just collateral damage. Right. As I mentioned, I shared publicly on my Facebook profile the video commentary on these terrific stories by Michelle Garner, and I included there in my own comment that I will never willingly return to the hellscape… That is Canada. And that’s very true. In many ways, I’m at peace with that, but I also feel angry, I like so many others in Canada, saw everything that my husband and I had worked towards for 15 years, and the foundation we’d built for our kids, ripped out from under us. We are indeed extremely lucky. And we also acted quickly and making the decision to leave the dictatorship of Canada because we saw early on that it was no longer safe for us or our children to remain there, but that doesn’t, therefore, mean that we haven’t experienced untold grief at feeling the necessity to flee or deep sadness at the dismantling of our hopes and our dreams and the sense of having a future, and we have a right to that as does everyone. So I was really quite taken aback when in response to my posting the video that delineates the sexual assault of these women in quarantine facilities, that out of the woodwork, creeps a relative of mine, a relative by marriage, but nonetheless, a person that I have shared meals with and that I’ve cared about over the years.

This individual, in response to the story that I shared in sorrow and rage and solidarity with the victims about rape in Canadian internment camps where innocent healthy individuals are being held against their will, this person had the temerity to chime in to comment that she is “a proud Canadian, and there are many good things about Canada, including the Canada Child Tax Benefit… Stop crapping on Canada and New Brunswick every day,” this person wrote to me, “and enjoy your life in the tropics. You know that old saying, If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” Now, I won’t name my relative here, that would be a step beyond where even I am prepared to go, but she did knowingly and apparently shamelessly, unapologetically share this comment on my public post, and it’s still there on my Facebook profile available for all the world to see if you happen to be interested. And actually, I loved this comment, because not only did this individual expose herself as having absolutely no moral compass whatsoever, to the point that she would ask a person who is raising awareness about women being raped in state-run isolation centers to be quiet and not to speak unless I have something nice to say. Something nice to say about sexual violation, perhaps? I should shut up and focus instead on the Child Tax Benefit, all that child tax benefit money that I’m shoveling into my coffers.

Right, I do adore it when people fold into their gaslighting a little attempted shaming for women like me who just won’t keep our legs closed, I mean, come on. Not only are we responsible for global warming and over-population, but surely, we’ve really only been procreating in order to line our pockets with state bribes. Ultimately, we’re grifters for having played the system via our fertility as well as through the work that we do, ’cause of course, as a health coach and birth consultant with a focus on supporting the healing of others outside of the industrial medical paradigm, I’m automatically seen by many as the most abject of charlatans.

For the record, not that it’s anyone else’s business, my family is not presently receiving any child tax benefit payments from the Canadian government at all, and I wouldn’t want it if it were being offered. But again, none of this is new. We’ve all been watching this kind of dynamic play out all around us with friends, neighbors, and associates. But to have members of my own family reveal themselves so clearly… well, that’s just a gift. Isn’t it?

But as always, this isn’t about me personally at all, it’s about the entire psychosocial drama that’s unraveling all over the world, for each and every one of us, we are all being revealed for exactly who and what we are. And what I’m seeing is that there are many people who have become so indoctrinated and so thought-controlled that they would sooner rationalize, ignore or bypass the sexual assault of women in quarantine isolation camps, then open their eyes to the depraved degree to which they have allowed themselves to be duped to the point of collaborating with this evil… Yes. Evil. I’m not a perfect person by any stretch, I’ve never claimed to be. One of my glaring shortcomings is the way that I struggle to keep love in my heart for people who have chosen to surrender their own humanity, to suspend their moral sense, and to defer their compassion. I do recognize that this is largely a result of mind control programming on their part, propaganda and poisons, when I can remind myself of this, I can muster a little bit more understanding, even for those who are essentially, as I said, collaborators with these very obviously dark agendas, and of course, this is always an invitation for me and for all of us to examine the way that we too are complicit with these dark forces at play in the world right now.
